In 2026 some Russian services restrict access when VPN is active. Banks, Gosuslugi, Ozon, Wildberries and Yandex services often need split tunneling or a temporary VPN pause.
How it appears
the app asks you to turn VPN off or says there is no internet
a marketplace opens without VPN but fails with it
a bank or Gosuslugi rejects a foreign IP
you need foreign services via VPN and Russian apps directly
How to fix it

Enable split tunneling for Russian apps if your client supports it.

Exclude banks, Gosuslugi, marketplaces and Yandex from VPN routing.

If the client has no exclusions, temporarily pause VPN for these services.
